This notice describes how the personal data of users who visit the website fametrue.com and interact with Fametrue S.r.l. is processed. It is provided pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the EU GDPR) and, in respect of users in the United Kingdom, of the UK GDPR as supplemented by the Data Protection Act 2018.

What data we process

The site processes two categories of personal data.

Browsing data. The computer systems and software procedures used to operate the site acquire, in the course of their normal operation, certain data whose transmission is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols, such as IP addresses and technical data relating to the device and browser. This data is used solely to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to ensure its security and correct functioning.

Data provided voluntarily by the user. The optional sending of communications to the contact addresses shown on the site, as well as the completion of any forms present, entails the acquisition of the sender's contact details (such as name, surname, company, role, email address) and any personal data contained in the communication.

Purposes and legal basis

Data is processed for the following purposes. The references below are to the EU GDPR; the corresponding provisions of the UK GDPR apply in the same terms to users in the United Kingdom.

  • To respond to users' requests and follow up on the contacts received. The legal basis is the performance of pre-contractual measures taken at the data subject's request, pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, and the controller's legitimate interest in managing the communications received, pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f).
  • To ensure the security and correct functioning of the site. The legal basis is the controller's legitimate interest, pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
  • To send the newsletter, only to users who expressly request it by ticking the relevant box. The legal basis is the data subject's consent, pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent is optional, may be withdrawn at any time, and its absence does not affect the possibility of being contacted. The newsletter contains informational updates only and users may unsubscribe at any time.
  • To comply with obligations laid down by law. The legal basis is compliance with a legal obligation, pursuant to Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.

Methods and place of processing

Data is processed using electronic tools, adopting technical and organisational measures appropriate to protect it from unauthorised access, loss or destruction. The site is hosted on the infrastructure of the provider Netlify, acting as data processor. Some of the provider's servers may be located outside the European Economic Area. In such cases, the transfer of data takes place on the basis of the safeguards provided for by the GDPR, such as the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum where applicable, or adherence to recognised adequacy frameworks.

Disclosure of data

Data may be processed by parties that provide the controller with instrumental technical services, such as the hosting provider and email service providers, appointed as data processors. Data is not disseminated or transferred to third parties for marketing purposes.

Retention period

Contact details and communications are retained for the time necessary to handle the request and, subsequently, for the period required by any legal obligations or by the need to defend a right in legal proceedings. Browsing data is retained for the time strictly necessary for the security and statistical purposes for which it is collected.

Rights of the data subject

The data subject has the right to ask the controller for access to their personal data, its rectification or erasure, the restriction of processing, and has the right to object to processing and to data portability, in the cases provided for by Articles 15 to 22 GDPR. They also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, namely the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) for users in the European Union, or the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) for users in the United Kingdom.
